I got a warning that 1Password 6 (Intel app) will not be supported in future macOS versions anymore.

Will they even remove Rosetta in macOS 27?

Edit: This came when clicking on more info. Not sure if there is anything new.

"Rosetta is currently available for any Mac with Apple silicon, and it will remain available through the forthcoming macOS 27 — the next major macOS release. Starting with computers using macOS 28, Rosetta functionality will be available only for certain older, unmaintained games that rely on Intel-based frameworks."

OK, so they are starting to issue Intel app warnings with macOS 26.4...?

They also did this with the phase out of 32-bit apps back in the day. I think later 10.13.x release of macOS got a one-time warning (per app), but starting with 10.14 it was one warning per app per month, so you would get repeatedly nagged. (Appropriately so, I would say.)

Yes, macOS 28 (releasing in "late 2027") will mark the beginning of the Rosetta 2 phase-out. They're saying that they are going to keep supporting it for "unmaintained games" but they have not provided any details on what that means beyond the one sentence.

We'll probably hear more during WWDC in June.

At least it didn't appear again after a reboot. Maybe after every update now once.

The update damaged two of my internal partitions. Just old macOS installers but still not a good sign.

My Mac doesn't support anything older than Sequoia and I wanted to delete the other ones anyway. I get those warnings now always when they are mounted after a reboot.

this happened to me too... - exact same issue, disk repair first aid found the issue but didnt fix it... had no choice but to wipe the drive, format as APFS and recover from backup - on my system it appears to be drives formatted as macOS Journaled.

Yes they all have the old Mac OS Extended Journaled (JHFS+) files system. But they live in an APFS container what is really confusing. I hate APFS. Luckily mine do not include any data I need. Seems worse what happened to you. 🙁

I abandoned the old file system for storing any data when I discovered there is no option for encrypting the drives anymore. With APFS I regularly have corrupted TimeMachine drives. The old file system was much more reliable. I still wish I could use it as my main drive and for encrypted backups.

Edit: It seems all four partitions with macOS installers are damaged. I just only get that warning message for two of them. But first aid doesn't work with all four. I can't even mount any of them when they are ejected. I have to reboot to make them all appear again on my desktop. There isn't even an error message when I click on mount in Disk Utility, it's simply not doing anything.
