  • Some major graphical issues may be present in this beta.
    • Present since (26.3 Beta 3)
  • Karabiner Elements seems to not be able to load Virtual Keyboard Driver and this all keyboard remapping doesn't work.
  • Getting Apple Webkit crashes in Safari all day long
    • Issue Present since macOS 26.4 Beta 1
  • HFS external drives may not mount (workaround: use 'diskutil mount' command in Terminal)
  • DMG disk images may not mount (workaround: use 'hdutil attach' command in Terminal)
  • 12-Hour times is displaying noon times as 00:00PM - 00:59PM instead of 12:00PM to 12:59PM
    • This is NOT fixed, will somebody help me and report this?
    • This doesn't seem to be an issue for anyone else...
  • Clipboard History always enabled after rebooting
  • More macOS 26.3 Finder column view silliness
  • Scroll bar is cut off on the bottom-right in Spotlight and System Settings
  • When filling your screen with the App Store, the title of the View may be wider than expected
  • On non notched devices, the volume indicator may have excessive padding in full screen (Present since 26.2 Beta 3)
  • Alarms may not play when your display is asleep for a long period of time (FB10086690)
    • Workaround: Make your display not fall asleep in Settings > Lock Screen > Turn display off on ____ when inactive. You can turn your brightness off.
    • Issue present since macOS 13.0
Additional NotesFull Installer (Direct Download) (Pending)
  • Updates might not show up in Settings as soon as it releases if you have Rosetta 2 installed.
  • If you are encountering a memory management issue (eg. a Memory Leak), please provide what app/process it is coming from (Using Activity Monitor) and what you were doing in that app.
  • When a new macOS release comes out, all issues automatically go to "Untested Issues" until they are moved by someone. Issues that stay in Untested for 3 releases (beta or smooth) will be removed from all future threads. When there is a new macOS release, please be sure to let us know about the issue's status by moving it to either "Remaining Issues" or "Resolved Issues"
  • macOS 26 Tahoe will be installed via a Delta Update in System Settings. Please be aware about this, as the update won’t install with an installer.
  • macOS 26 is officially supported on the following devices. If your device is not listed below, it has unfortunately been dropped by Apple. Any efforts of trying to get your Mac running macOS 26, including bugs should be discussed in this thread.

trying to update from beta 1 hoping for no errors.

Update, still fails. No time to go safe mode.

Problem persists in Beta 3 👎

Edit - I can add a custom icon to an empty folder, but not to a folder with contents

Still problems with custom icons... it seems you can change, but once you move any file inside, custom icons revert to default icon... irritated!
 
I was wondering when a Beta 3 thread was going to be created. Anyway, I'm not seeing nearly as many issues with networking.

I’m one of those who’ve been guilty of posting about being unable to update the macOS 26.4 betas—but here is my mea culpa. It turns out that all I needed to do was disable all of my filters (in my case, antivirus software and Malwarebytes), run the updater, restart, and then turn AV software and Malwarebytes back on. Voilà—the update is there and everything is beautiful! No need to safe boot or anything else—just needed to disable filters temporarily.

My problem was that I had disabled all filters except Malwarebytes; I just needed to disable one more filter to make it work.

That's interesting, as I don't have any filters. I have CleanMyMac but it wasn't running at the time.

Did you have any network issues after installing? I had to keep all filters disabled on Beta 2.

Not a one. I turned all the filters back on after installing beta 3 and everything works beautifully. I assume that I’ll have to turn them off temporarily to update to beta 4 when it comes out, but I’d suspect that once the next update is installed, I can probably turn them back on again.

I suspect that CleanMyMac probably was running some filter in the background that you weren’t aware of, but that’s just a guess.

I don't know why they wouldn't just call it "beta 4". They often do beta releases on Monday (just after 10 AM US/Pacific time) but it's not a guarantee, no one knows until it happens.
