Ventura basically broke my wifi. I have tried everything including reinstalling 13.1 in recovery, and seeing if I could fix the problem in safe mode (I couldn't). I even reset PRAM. I think I may have to reset to factory settings, but I forget: does this wipe everything off the computer, or will my files still be there? I have backups, but restoring files from backup would be another step I would be grateful to avoid.

In the meantime, anyone have their wifi just simply fail after updating to 13.1? I updated from 12.6.2 if that makes a difference. Intel iMac.
try forgetting your network, starting over. reset your modem/router. or create a new network...

The way I solved it is by making a clean install, meaning I backed up all my data, reset the Mac to factory by starting the mac in recovery mode, wiping all the data on its ssd, and reinstalled macOS. Not only: when you factory reset your Mac it won't retain the OS you last installed, no, it will go back to what it had when it came out of the factory, in my case Monterey. So unless you bought your Mac in the last few months, chances are you're gonna have to install first the "default" macOS for your Mac, and then upgrade to the current OS. Finally, you can can put back all the files you backed up.
Double the hassle...

Yeah, forgot to mention I tried all that basic stuff.

Yow, there is no way I want to do all that. Ugh. Thanks, Apple, for breaking my computer!

Well, I'm no technician, so before doing all that - if you haven't found a solution yourself yet - you'd better call Apple support ;)
Worst that can happen, you'll have learned a little more troubleshooting, and end up the way I suggested, that's all!
Wish you the best

Can they fix the bluetooth issues where is looses my keyboard, mouse, and trackpad at various times. I am not sure what is going on but this is getting crazy. I have to restart to allow a day or two without issues.

Thanks. I did submit a case through online support. If they don't get back to me in another day or two, I'll call them. I probably should have called them first, not sure why I didn't.

EDIT: well, it turns out it was actually my wifi card. Which sucks, but wanted to share that in case anyone is frustrated with wifi on Ventura, especially if their computer is older. It might be your hardware!

I remember having this issue with my first MacBook Pro early 2011 while using it with the first gen Magic Mouse. It was a pain as I couldn't find out what was going on. After some time I ran around a topic on apple discussions that 2.4GHz Wifi network may interfere with the Bluetooth frequencies. My router was automatically switching between 2.4 and 5 GHz, so I have tried to change the WiFi to 5GHz only but it would not stop. I find out the AW Series 3 which I had back then when the issue was happening, were still operating on WiFi 2.4GHz so I changed the router settings back to auto switch as it did not helped either. I am no super technician so I do not know how AW could be interfering with the magic mouse and magic keyboard connections. Nevertheless the issue stops and I can't pin point the exact date when it stopped doing it, but I am now a happy owner of AW Series 7 and running only on 5GHz WiFi in my flat. So maybe try to consider this and do some testing with the your router settings or if you own AW Series SE, 5 or earlier try to turn them off and see if it helps. Good luck

Have you double-checked the integrity of your trackpad?
The problem occurs with both the built-in trackpad and an external Apple Bluetooth trackpad, hence it does not seem to be a trackpad hardware issue. Also, since many of the dot releases reduced the problem, it seems clear this is a software issue. Apple just released a new dot-release of Monterey, I'll try installing it this weekend, and perhaps throw in an SMC reset and safe-boot as well.
