Hello, this is a weird problem. I enrolled my Mac for the beta, and am able to download MacOS Ventura 13 Beta.

The only issue is after pressing UPGRADE NOW the installation actually installs directly on the Monterey partition and NOT as an application inside of the application folder. Previous beta's you where able to run the new version of the OS and select a different partition to install it on so it won't mess up your existing installation.

Anyone know how to solve this ?

That's how it works, from what I've read. So to get what you want, you'd have to clone your current installation first, and then upgrade one of them.

Yes - you can create a virtual machine using Apple's Virtualization framework (NOTE- some facility with Xcode required) install Monterey on it then install the Ventura beta as above. This is in some ways better than installing on a separate partition on your real machine as you can run BOTH Monterey and Ventura side-by-side and you don't put your Monterey installation at potential risk.

Clicking on Upgrade Now will download the installer to your Applications folder. The installer will run automatically but if you quit it the installer will remain in the Applications folder.

You can then create a new volume using Disk Utility and install it to the new volume. After installation has completed you'll have dual boot: one for your old macOS and one for Ventura. Tried it on a MacBook Pro M1 yesterday and it's been working really well.

I was curious so I logged into my developer account and clicked the "Install Profile" button adjacent to macOS13 beta at this address...
The installer downloaded and asked to be installed on the partition where Monterey resides. I ran the installer and IT downloaded Ventura developer beta. When done, the Ventura installer now asked where I wanted to install macOS 13. I clicked "Show All Disks". At that point I could select the partition I had created to host Ventura. But since I already have Ventura running on a VM, I quit the installer. I have no doubt it would have installed just fine on that partition.

That isn’t necessarily how it works anymore with the Ventura beta. Take a look at the first post in this thread: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...ta-to-a-2nd-volume-or-external-drive.2347449/
Thanks for pointing this out!

Not sure how it happened, but I did get the 12GB installer after clicking on the Upgrade Now button. This was on a MacBook Pro M1 Max.

With the installer, first I copied it to a macOS Monterey VM (via macOS' file sharing), upgraded the VM, which went without any issues. But since the VM didn't work w/ Apple ID, I continued to look for another way to test Ventura without having to upgrade macOS Monterey on the MBP. That's when I came across a post on this forum with a link to this doc:

I followed the doc and was able to install Ventura on a separate partition as hugo_necst had described.

Check out the Apple doc if you haven't. It might give you some ideas to try.

That is my problem, that window never popped up. Nor did they actual app was placed in the app folder. My download was not 12 but 4 gigs, maybe that is the problem ?
