Macos / Windows partition question

I’m thinking about getting Windows on my iMac through BootCamp to play some games, but I’m unsure about one important thing.

If I happen to get a virus on Windows is it possible that it can affect the files on the Mac os drive partition? Like can it spread across the entire drive (macos AND windows)? I understand that Windows viruses generally cannot affect macos, but the fact that they share the same drive worries me a bit...

The Bootcamp and Mac partitions are entirely separate therefore it is highly unlikely the macOS partition would be affected.
