Sorry but I would like to ask a question to some expert, for example a 12-core macpro like this in the link below

https://www.ebay.it/itm/Apple-Mac-P...563947?hash=item2cd778912b:g:XL8AAOSwXtNaedzG

will certainly be more powerful and better than an I7 4790K, to edit with FCPX or Premiere pro CS6, or am I wrong?
I want to say that also the 2009 Macpro has 12 cores, its power will be higher than a more recent I7 4790k which is still a 4 core.
So would it be good to buy a used macpro 12 core instead of an I7 4790k and then make a hackintosh?

thank you

Here's the deal: The 4790K is 94% faster than the 12 core at single-core tasks, but the 12-core is 20% faster than the 4790K for multi-core processing, such as rendering video. There are hardware acceleration factors involved with rendering on newer machines (like the iMac 4790K) which I am not taking into account; I do not know how that translates to a hackintosh. Is running a hackintosh worth it to you? If there are no problems with Final Cut Pro, then it might be worth it. That's your decision. The price on eBay for the Mac was pretty good.

In fact I have a hackintosh I7 4790k and I have a benckmark of 16.455. and I use it with fcpx 10.4.3 so I'm just interested in doing video diting.
thank you
