Although the forum is over run with 'mac pro dead' and 'apple's breaking ma balls' nonsense, I have a question for any MacPro users who have installed or have any info regarding the GTX 570?
My rig:
MacPro 4,1 (but did the sneaky 5,1 update)
I have heard about the magic drivers from nvidia and such, but was wondering if anyone has any experience with performance and known issues? I was holding out to see if apple was going to release an official update to their compatible GPU's, which they didn't. So now Im thinking i might just fork out the $400AUD to buy a new GPU. I mainly work in Adobe (illustrator, photoshop etc) but also enjoy gaming (SC2, D3, Civ5, etc [I know windows is better for gaming, I use steam on bootcamp when there isnt a mac compatible ver]) + ill normally have a VM running windows.
Anyway any links or info regarding the above would be great (and yes I did google this first) but wanted to hear from anyone who has got one running now?
Or I guess if im better off with the 6870? (or 5870)
ps. Upgrading from the 5770 (apple one)
TLDR; Is it worth buying the GTX570
