is it possible to have a dual boot MacPro1,1 with Mavs and El Cap?
Reason being, I need to run ProTools 10HD on Mavs (due to cost of plug upgrades) and Media Composer 1st only runs on El Cap or better.

I don't see why not. Just curious, why do you think it wouldn't work?

The only issue would be that you cannot run the lastest security update. I was reading about it breaking the OS on the 1,1.

There currently is no work around.

aren't there 2 different EFI for Mavs and El Cap? That was my only thought. Perhaps there is only one.?

Exactly like my MacPro1,1 is set up, works like a charm.
Oh, the other Volume "El-Cap-2018" is the one with the patched 2018-001 security update, and yes it does work alright.
