my macpro3,1 running mojave has this issue where any time the system is under a decent amount of load (when downloading games in steam for example) the system will kind of stutter and lag, and this is most noticeable in the audio where it will kind of skip around. and in general the system just doesn't really feel as fast as i would expect out of an 8-core with 16gb ram, everything just feels kind of sluggish (even when not under load). has anyone ever experienced this before, and if so, is there a fix?
running 10.14.6 with all the updates, my machine has the 2.8ghz 4-core cpu's, 16gb ram and a radeon hd 7750, with opencore legacy patcher to run mojave.
EDIT: it seems that the stuttering of audio only occurs in my usb audio device, not the built in speakers. and neither my line out port nor the front headphone jack seem to work, they get detected but i just don't hear any sound through them (although that could just be an issue with my stereo, not quite sure). still have the issue of the system just running quite slowly too though, is that normal for a 3,1 on mojave? i thought this OS was quite light so i wouldn't expect that to be the case (ran high sierra on a similar speed single processor core 2 quad in the past and it was very fast)
