iPhone 16 Pro Max Macro photo pinching in makes photos look like?

When talking macro photos then pinching in to zoom from the photo library the photo takes a strange twist in color and saturation. Is this some sort of new feature for the iPhone 16 ? When this happens the back of iPhone gets warm. When I back out of the thumbnail then it reverts back to its original image saturation and colors
