Macros in Excel.

I have been instructed to use a macro in excel to "import raw data to automate the process for future use." It also instructs me to use cell references to move data from worksheet to worksheet rather than just copy and pasting or typing the data in.... I need help with both of these!!!!

Also, I am using mac 2008. I have gone to the tools tab and opened the macro window. I am also unsure what to do with the large box below the "Macro name:" box.
