Hello everyone,

MacRumors is experimenting with brief stories on the front page.

These will be extra stories alongside our regular full-length ones.

Here is our first one: https://www.macrumors.com/2026/06/02/nintendo-music-carplay/

These stories will typically be just a few sentences, have a small image, and lack a Show Full Article button.

The aim here is for MacRumors to cover a wider variety of topics that tie into the Apple ecosystem — typically smaller ones that we might not have time to write a full story on.

Feel free to provide your feedback! It is truly appreciated.

Even if you do not like it, do let us know, so that we can re-evaluate or tweak things if many people feel that way.

Thank you! cc @arn

I think I like it, certainly this first one.
At the same time, given some of the other threads in this sub-forum, I think opinions will differ (example of too many deals articles comes to mind) but imho more is better, after all we all know how to scroll 😉

Keep it up, I'll keep reading 😎

I saw this earlier today and did take notice of it.
I like it. If it’s of no interest, it’s easy to skip over.
But also easy to read more.
I could see a lot of uses for this.

Think it’s a nice concept, but to me is missing something. Needs an additional call-out, like “MacRumors - Quick Bite” or something else to call out it’s a quick read.

I think this is a great idea. Too often the articles on MR are repetitive and filled with information that really isn't needed.

I mentioned it in the thread itself but how about like a quick byte roundup at the end of each day like you do the top stories of the week on Saturdays. Then it's about the size of one article, but you get various news and notes like the Nintendo article.

It's a good idea on the surface, but we'll likely pass.

I experimented with that idea back in 2018, but it ended up being impractical. If it ends up being a particularly slow news day, then we held too many things for the daily recap. And the comment sections were all over the place since there were several topics in one story. And if I'm being honest, the individual stories will likely receive more pageviews cumulatively, which obviously matters to us too.

I wish this format can be used for all articles, especially in Fluid HD mode. The picture usually doesn't add to the article, and the picture is ridiculously huge in Fluid HD mode such that only one article can appear on the screen at a time on a MacBook Pro 14".
