myself I get the problem on my 8plus but not on my ipad mini 5 with safari. both running 14.6.
Trying out Firefox content blocker via safari. I’ll see how that works out.

Which Firefox content blocker are you using? Firefox focus?

Just replied to you on the other 14.7 thread. You killed two birds with one stone! Firefox focus has solved my buggy ness of these forums also. Runs like it used to and no ads. It must have just been the ads screwing things up for us all.

It’s bloody awesome, should’ve installed it ages ago.

Good riddance the 2 million ads on the ESPN website 😂

This might sound strange but since installing the ad blocker for safari my ram management has been way better than before. Not only would those ads spike cpu usage and make the phone warm but I think they would also use massive amounts of runaway ram. I would notice after a few days of usage usually like 4-5 days my phone would be reloading apps like crazy all the time. Then I would reboot and it would be fine for a few days. Now since the adblocker I haven’t rebooted my phone in a over a week and a lot of my apps are right where I left them! I’m on a iPhone 7 with 2gb of ram also! Just wanted to say thanks again! Everyone else should try out this adblocker!

Nice!!! It’s disgusting how many ads sites have these days that overheat our devices and drain our batteries like no
tomorrow, I’ve also noticed a huge improvement on my devices since installing a content blocker, battery lasting way longer, no more heat issues and websites are loading way quicker than before.

Hope apple targets ads next.

I know these companies need to make money from ad revenue, but destroying people’s devices with these power hungry ads isn’t acceptable.

One shouldn't have to choose a different browser or get a ad blocker to use this forum, honestly reckon they need to rebuild the whole site, make it more efficient and cut back on these damn ads. my phone got that hot last night and battery was draining like no tomorrow, I ended up logging out of these forums 🥺
Why shouldn’t? Just use content blocker from Firefox focus and you will be fine.

I experience all the behaviors the OP mentioned. It’s a fun experience on my iPad. Seems like I spend more time fixing mistakes it shouldn’t be making.

I see it’s supposedly out of their control, but here’s another quirk to add to the list… Normally when holding the delete key in any other application or site, it’ll delete one letter at a time quickly, then start deleting whole words at a time at a slower rate. Here in the forums, it starts out by deleting letters quickly as normal, then it’ll switch to the slower rate, but still delete one letter at a time instead of whole words…so it takes forever to delete a lot of text.

Good to know that turning BB code off is a workaround for these issues.

The twist is if Apple did focus on targeting ads in a future Safari update … could you imagine the huge uproar from ad companies (and again from FB)??!

how normal that would actually be, its strange that even with privacy labels, that so many companies complain as if Apple somehow is expected or contracted out to embrace ads and give away privacy to their users? Strange world of interconnectivity (internet) we’re in.

Doesn't sounds strange. Some webpages ads were like videos. And they would have a few of them. How well is a mobile device going to handle a webpage playing several videos....
