I had the strangest idea last night. What if we had awards sent out to users for things like "Best Mod" or "Funniest post" or even "Best computer set-up"? Does this sound do-able?

I'm inclined to agree with Onizuka and vniow. It wouldn't really serve much more purpose than to massage a couple of egos, while some of those who didn't get nominated would get their noses put out of joint.

So, feel free to nominate the three of us for the title of Most Miserable Member.

I tend to agree, although that thread of favorite quote on MR taken-out-of-context that was going for a while was a lot of fun.

I say...if you see someone do something you appreciate, PM them. I try to do that every once in a while. Say nice things when people make you smile, and it'll make MR seem more like a community.

Sorry... I'm not one to go pointing out typos normally (we all make spelling errors – I know I do), but just in the off-chance there's an award for the Most Pointlessly Pedantic Poster I need to start racking up the points...

A lot of egos will be broken. Including mine when I don't get the "Hottest Girl" or "Best Mod" Award. I could be contender for "Worst Sense of Humor" though... hmmm.

Very true, that says it all... And yeah I'd fight for the "Cheapest Bastard" award but really, it sounds like a good idea initially, but not very practical...

Yeah, I don't think this would work too well, I think there are far too many members who would qualify equally for many different categories, so picking one true "winner" would be next to impossible. We're all winners (whiners?) here at MacRumors!
