Yes. Because we don’t need yearly hardware refreshes anymore. This, and the iPad Pro, very well could have come out in the spring of 2026 with the rest of the M5 lineup and nobody would’ve bat an eyelash.

That’s true but then they’d be lagging behind competitors, not leading those with a more frequent release cadence.

I’m sure Apple could spend the time and money for this on something better.

It’s funny as when intel were taking forever to release new chips everyone complained. Now apple are being frequent we get the same complaints.

This is the business they’re in. I don’t know why it’s a problem excelling at what they do. There’s nothing forcing anyone to upgrade if they don’t want to. Just be happy with what you’ve got if it’s good for you.
