just to be technical...what we have looks more like a DNA strand than a proetin alpha helix. protein structures include:
primary - individual amino acids
secondary - combination of amino acids. can be an alpha helix or a beta pleated sheet
tertiary - combination of alpha and beta sturctures to form a twisted mess
quaternary - duplicates of tertiary (usually in very large proteins)
here are pictures of what we've been folding. i guess it doesn't look as glamourous, but it's more accurate.
