Could someone please point me in the direction of a MacRumors type site/forum that is dedicated to Amazon products, I just get lost when googling.

I don't know about an Amazon-specific site, but you can use categories/tags on various general tech sites to quickly get to Amazon-specific content, e.g.

Nope, none exists. That is why I post my experiences with Amazon Fire tablets here on MacRumor's "Alternatives to iOS" section.
