Sure thing. Attach a giant sticker to your expensive, anti-reflective coated Retina display. Let me know how the screen looks when you come to take it off again in 12 months.
"A 2017 study done by the University of Houston found that participants wearing the glasses showed about a 58% increase in their nighttime melatonin levels."

There's a lot we don't know about melatonin. The only thing we properly understand is there's a gland in our brain that produces the hormone when it's dark, and this makes us sleepy... but it's also pretty clear there melatonin is involved in other critical functions - for example it's tied somehow to our immune system and we know it's very effective at helping our body dispose of free radicals and helps mitigate ionising radiation exposure. We also know that melatonin has no serious side effects (it obviously makes you sleepy... and massive doses are harmful, but sensible doses are harmless). And there are ongoing studies with encouraging early results to use melatonin as a treatment for various mental disabilities and illnesses including depression and autism.
Melatonin isn't only produced in the brain. Our eyes, skin and digestive system also produce melatonin. We don't know why... but those are the most exposed areas of our body and melatonin is somehow involved in our healing process which seems like too much of a coincidence to be unrelated.
There are clearly companies trying to take advantage of the hype and making false marketing claims around blue light, but that doesn't mean the issue itself is bogus. It's clear that even a slight change in blue light levels has a dramatic impact on how much melatonin our body produces, and melatonin is clearly a critical hormone.
I love the way the demo movie skips over all the crucial steps, like cleaning and removing air bubbles. All straightforward if you're the salesperson, but not for the rest of us.
I won a cheap clear boombox in the second grade. Which I thought was the coolest thing ever. In a jelly bean guessing contest. I was off by three jelly beans in a huge jar. Which is pretty good for a kid who had only learned basic math. To figure out how many jelly beans would fit in the jar. Rather than just guess.
No point to this really. Your comment just triggered the memory.
Currently yes, I keep my blinds closed and my lights off, so I can keep my monitors at a lower level. I know many other developers that also like to work with lights off as well. Maybe I should install some UV lights for my webcam, get a little tan when I do video calls.
