Bluetti makes nice stuff. Unlike Jackery, I think you can use 3rd party solar panels with Bluetti

It is too bad they don't tell you what to do in the article... .
Giveaway? How those work in MacRumors? What one has to do to participate?

It helps to actually read the article in its entirety, because it does tell you specifically how to enter to win:

Well, it’s always been like that. I don’t know how you log into the forums. It’s always been like that way.

Also, does this thing connect to house via transfer switch? Would be more useful if it was waterproof so it can be placed outdoors.
Nope, this is the first time it’s ever asked me for a social media login. It definitely has NOT always been like that.

Oh man, this is probably the best giveaway you guys have done yet! I WANT IT. Especially since this one uses Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries, which are safer and last a lot longer. For something this big, it needs to use this, otherwise I'd be worried about it taking my whole house down with it if it caught fire.

I have a smaller Anker Power Station for emergencies in severe thunderstorms/tornadoes and ice storms. Basically to keep the phones charged, maybe the iPads to occupy the kids in the dark. Depends how bad the storm is as to how long the power will be out. I have a small solar panel for it but that doesn't work well if it's cloudy or it's a prolonged storm.

But this thing? If I won it, I would be tempted to build a 4X4 camper around it using an old cargo van. Well, maybe if used car prices come down. Would make an awesome generator with some solar panels on the roof charging it while driving. And I would also make the ultimate severe storm backup without using fuel. Living in the midwest we get power outages any time of the year because you never know what the weather will throw at you.

ublock origin or Privacy Badger blocks that app login (not that I can enter a prize draw from the UK anyway) so I'll follow my browsers extensions advice that its to be avoided.

Also, iCloud relay. I was able to participate on my iPad, my phone is using iCloud relay. I suppose my iPad isn’t, now that’s odd!

Can this be connected to your house panel via an interlock? assuming you don't run central AC or microwave/toaster oven, how many hours or days do you think the 8000 watt hour unit could last?
It would be expensive to do correctly, but can be done dangerously for cheap. Don't ask me how, I am not about to give you instructions on how to electrocute yourself, but the internet is a wonderful place for finding bad electrical advice.

As far as run time... I used to have solar panels, so I kept a very detailed record of how much energy my home used daily. Two adults and two toddlers in a 2400 sq.ft. home used 10 kWh to 40 kWh per day. 10 was in the winter with gas heating and cooking, 40 was the hottest summer day with central AC cranked. So it all depends. Could last you anywhere from a few hours to a day or so, maybe two days if you're very conservative with energy use during that period.

The UK has been allowed to enter these contests for a while now!
