Am I doing it wrong, or does it look like when you close the folio that your nice, shiny Apple Watch face comes into direct contact with the charger/metal clasp?

The Materials are advertised as buffalo leather and ceramic. Puts a nice scratch on your new watch!

Am I misunderstanding the image of the watch carrier? It looks like when you close it, the strap button lands right on the face of the watch?

I'm currently in the middle of a review on the folio and I can confirm that the Apple Watch does not come into contact with anything that would scratch it. That cord wrap that you see in the photo is laid on top of the folio for the picture -- it isn't a built in piece. It's just a standalone cord wrap that happens to be sitting there.

thats exactly what i was thinking. In that case, the watch would be safer in my pocket..

$200.00 for the backpack. That's pushing it.
I have that backpack and I love it. I use it for school. It has compartments for my iPad, books, folders, multiple charging cables, ear buds, writing implements, and a thick clipboard, with plenty more room to spare. I can attest to its quality, too. I'm rough on my book bags, but there's not a tear or even a loose thread on the thing. Maybe $200 is a bit much, but you can't beat free.

I'm confused. Why wouldn't people travel with the watch on their wrist?
I was wondering the same thing. During the 40 years that I've been wearing watches, not once have I ever felt the need to put any of them into a "travel folio."

Yeah, feel the same way. I pretty much stopped taking this advert-bait.
