It’s awesome that these are a give away, because there will be zero warranty on them. I do love the flat black color. Hopefully Apple will eventually add color choices to these (you can get some colors on beats). I hope TheYayAreaLiving wins and shows us what color they are!

It asks for your email as soon as you invoke one of the entry methods - for me, it happened when I clicked "already followed" in the Twitter entry.

It seems like the sort of confusing, poorly designed, web pages that only a newbie web coder would have come up with. ?

Can anybody speak to the long term color fastness? Like does the paint wear off/chip/dull over time?
I don’t suspect you’ll have any issues with paint fading, like from touching from your hands excessively over the course of time, but I probably would avoid things like using rubbing alcohol, any type of cleaning solutions with the AirPods. The only other issue you might run into, is if you drop the case or the AirPods, there’s the obvious effect of ‘Chipping’. My advice, just use a damp microfiber cloth for any type of basic cleaning.

Shocked Apple hasn't offered color options for AirPods. It would sell like hotcakes. Unfortunately, they don't fit my ears at all. Doesn't matter if I'm still or active. I'd give them away if I were to win.
No, because AirPods are white and only white.

A big part of the draw of Apple is showing your peers that you're sporting a genuine Apple product. Once AirPods come in black, red, or other colours, then you won't immediately think "AirPods" unless you're up close to the product and examining it.

I'm not saying it's good or bad. But branding trumps consumer wishes any day. You're not going to build product/brand recognition with many different, always changing designs and colours.

If you want coloured "AirPods" made by Apple then your only option is Beats.

Fading, no. Coverage issues, possibly. If there was any residue prior to coating, it could flake and bleb over time. It's physics and chemistry. I wouldn't worry about it though. Yeah, any shock, or scratches/friction will obviously increase chances of observable damage. But they do look AMAZING until then...

Except a lot of knockoffs are similar looking and "you won't immediately [know they're] 'AirPods' unless you're up close to the product and examining it. 🤷‍♂️
