I just saw it on the app store. It's available for .99. Check it out.

It doesn't look official to me. My opinion is unless it's made by arn and free, it isn't the official app.

Would that even be legal? I guess macrumors should contact the dev. I haven't bought it yet and won't until I hear an official announcment on the front page.

According to the one 1 star review on the US store, it doesn't even allow the ability to read full articles within the app; just provides a teaser summary and offers a link to the full article in Safari. Definitely not official.

Thanks for the info. I saw the App a while ago but was afraid to buy it for reasons you guys are mentioning... ;)

app's not official and I've asked for it to be pulled.

an official app will come at some point and it will be free.

I am soooo glad I read the rest of this thread! I almost went straight to iTunes and bought it just by seeing the heading alone.

Even though it was only 99 cents I do not want to support someone who steals from others by making fake apps.

Agreed. The part that I didn't like was that the logo was taken from here (without permission, I am assuming). Same with the name. Nowhere does it state that it is an unofficial app, as well. I really hope not too many people got conned into buying the app. Perhaps they can get refunds, if they did.

I just saw it on the App Store here here in the UK, thought it would have been Front page news here, so I didn't buy.
Glad I didn't! I don't want to support a guy like that. I'll wait for the official one :)
Also saw... the same guy who made it on the App Store made a Gizmodo one...
