Hey!
MacRumors doesn't publish over half of the news about Apple, especially considering the political ones or the ones that show how evil Apple is and that they're no better than Microsoft and Google (they're not, if you think they are then I've got bad news for you).
Anyway, when I post an article here it gets instantly removed, yet there are political news here sometimes. Who decides?

Also, when you correct their mistakes in articles, they edit the article without any notes and they make you look like a lunatic and over half of the people are "It says that in the article" and reacting with 🤣 reaction, even though at the time of pointing out the missing facts they weren't on the article.

I used to think that MacRumors is better than reddit etc and it has freedom of speech, but no. It doesn't.
The internet is really dead somewhat and so is MacRumors :( I don't know why I'm disappointed or what could be improved.

I just don't understand why some political news get published and some don't. If I'm not allowed to post political articles here then lets not publish political news at all?

I'm not going to post here what was removed, but it was political and it was about Apple.

Respect.

Apple's made some decisions lately that really have me questioning if all their privacy talk is just a bunch of privacy sane-washing.
Yeah, I agree with that and it needs to be pointed out. I don't understand why MacRumors doesn't point some of the things Apple does out. So you post an article here to raise awareness and it gets removed due to being political, yet there are political news all over the place on this site.
I really don't understand how the rules here work or who decides what's acceptable and what's not. I'd like to hear feedback from the moderators of this site and I'd like them to reflect on themselves whether or not they are biased against some users or news and views etc.

Definitely, its not a deep seeded philosophy but rather a marketing choice by Tim and company. Overall, I think macs are in much better shape then windows, and there are some distros that have various levels of telemetry.

It really bothered me that MR never posted about the ICEBlock App removal Apple did.

I do not understand why not, in the Political area if need be, as it's highly relevant and topical about Apple and in this moment.

If Apple is doing something SO controversial it can't even be talked about here ... maybe we should all be talking more about Apple and what they are doing and be far more critical.

It's a thought that keeps reoccurring in my mind as well, especially in light of their software "design" direction of late.
I haven't enjoyed Tahoe, but was mostly indifferent until I the other day when I found myself struggling to resize windows because I just couldn't find the handle. I normally brush off annoyances like that, but I was working in a tool I don't typically use so it added a lot of friction at a very unwelcome time.

It is simple, MR has a editorial/journalist connection with Apple and they are not about to ruin that connection by persistently posting negative articles about the company regardless of how relevant the negativity is.

Posting factual articles (literally just "what Apple did" in the case of ICEBlock example) is not "negative" on its own.

we can't accuse MR of being biased or removing posts or any other website.

I read, then watch a documentary that revealed there was a government watchdog that hired techs and appointed them
to remove negative posts towards their government on any chat or forum website last decade after that Snowden whislteblowing fiasco.

some web moderators claimed they did not delete posts as now we know who did.
I can't see MR forfeiting our freedom of speech here but perhaps there is something we don't know
as we did not last decade.

seems to me that we really should not get political here unless  starts handing over our data to the government.

in-house analysis of the EU apples, Chinese oranges situation due any moment now:

In a statement to Wired, Apple said: “We follow the laws in the countries where we operate. Based on an order from the Cyberspace Administration of China, we have removed these two apps from the China storefront only.”

The editors decide what to publish and what not to publish. Moderators are not involved in that process.

The editors are the only staff who can start threads in the Political News section. So since the old Politics forum is now closed, the only place for such discussions will be in relevant Political News threads.

If there is a subject you would like to see covered, send your suggestion to tips@macrumors.com.

Have you read the front page recently? This site posts every negative rumor (and spins the neutral ones to negative) that they can.

If there's a critique to be made, its that the site is clearly focused on driving engagement and clicks through negativity, not that it's 'too positive/nice'.

MR isn’t biased and Apple isn’t evil.

I think it’s a fair question to ask why some news gets covered and others don’t. Maybe the editorial staff will respond in kind.

But I don’t agree MR is biased.
This is actually is a fair question for literally every news outlet/platform in the world -- it's not just a MR issue. But, I agree, I do not think MR is biased. I think its readership is though.
