You'll shed the title of "newbie" and become a "member" once you hit 30 posts.

You need to give it a little time. Maybe by tomorrow you will have made it to regular!
i read somewhere that after 25 posts i can be promoted from being a macrumors newbie.
why am i still one?
how do i stop being branded a "newbie".
...i really just want to have that signature spot so i can show off my mac gear 🙂.
i see you have colors in your signature.
will i be able to post a picture under my name as well once I'm not longer "newbie" status?
----------
i also really am offended at myself for not joining this site sooner, I've been using mac products my entire life (I'm 27, my school started us on macs when i was in kindergarten) and have ditched pcs since 2008...

You need 500 posts for an avatar. Loooooong way away.
And don't be ashamed/offended at yourself for not joining sooner. I lurked for a very long time before I actually joined in 2011, and haven't posted a lot. I must be shy or something.
well, this should be #30... thanks guys for all the responses.
and shy? no, its just difficult to post something that someone hasn't mentioned before without sounding like a douche i suppose.

I don't even think it's that. There are too many hard-nosed people with overly-firm opinions that I'd rather not get into flame wars with, so for the most part I just sit back and read.
On two side notes, congrats on the rank and nice to see a fellow Long Islander lurking around.

Welcome member! I remember the days. Tbh these days I don't really notice when I move from one rank to the next, but the gaps get bigger as time goes on though. I think I go up a rank every 1000 posts or something. Still miles behind the big boys though.

Just a suggestion...you should take a moment to read the "FAQ/Rules" (at the top of the page) if you have not yet done so...save you time, and avoid any possible future problems.
Welcome to the asylum!😀
thanks for the welcome homie.
yes, you're right, and i do that as well, i post as well to see which can provide the answer quicker.
in this case, i asked, then i searched, found the answer in seconds, and now I'm flying high.
I see you figured out the signature.
lol, yes, seconds after i posted the question. so yes, i should do my research before posting. apologies everyone.
