As long as it's limited to narrow specifics like a MacBook Air ONLY, specific OS like 10.7.2 ONLY, and specific programs like Aperture ONLY, I'll be out of the game. That's the rub with making it so Apple-y. I like when it's things like a pet looking at an Apple product with interest, or going out and doing something fun with an item.

By being all specific, two people could get together with a list of Apple and other junk and trade points off, then take turns being the winner.

I did amuse myself by getting Spencie to wrap his head in toilet paper, I have to say. Carry on!

I second that wholeheartedly.

I think something specific, like a certain computer or OS shouldn't be allowed, but general things like "a MacBook" or "a version of Lion" or a "photo editing program" are good.

All these informal "rules" limiting specificity... It's a scavenger hunt. Not everyone is supposed to be able to do every single challenge.

Here you go! My first scavenge (let me know if I did antything wrong)

Unless someone disapproves of my last submission the next challenge is:

An iOS device taking a picture of an Intel Mac next to an original Macintosh (any version so long as it is the same form factor of the original Macintosh). Standard MR info required.

An "original Mac" as in the ones sold from January to September of 1984?
That form factor was discontinued in 1987, unless you mean all the later models that went into the '90s.

Yes I mean the original mac. I guess a Macintosh Classic would suffice as well, but I was more talking about 128k vs 512k vs Plus not mattering. If this proves too difficult to complete in a timely manner I guess we could consider expanding it to include any pre PowerPC mac.

Yes but Firestar hasn't been able to do any, and Ive only been able to do one.
Yep. That's just because I'm cheap and therefore can't buy Apple products.

I understand that this is an Apple forum, however this is Community Discussion, not Make Sure Firestar Can't Win Anything. Kidding aside, I think challenges like Spencie being covered in TP were fun and something unordinary. All iOS device stuff is just boring, IMO.

Keeps you coming back, Firestar.

Hm... Last time it took awhile for someone to complete the PowerPC mac challenge and now pre PowerPC? I lost.

Haha, soon it will be challenges like, "A photograph (using Kodachrome film) of a 1909-S V.D.B. penny sitting on a prototype iPhone being held by someone wearing Trimm Trab shoes."

but if its not quite hard enough, then it isn't competitive! I understand that certain challenges inherently exclude some people from participating, but if everyone can do every challenge then the person with the fastest reflexes will win every time and thats no fun! Isn't part of the fun of the "scavenger hunt" making the effort to find the requirements for the challenge?

That said, would everyone be ok with changing the challenge if I can get 5 votes to do so, or should we let this one run its course? Its difficult but not impossible, I'm sure there are plenty of people on this forum with an old macintosh sitting in a closet somewhere.

1 vote for changing the challenge!
