You asked what the heaviest phones we had were. that would be a lot of entries for heavy phones. Did you want to know what phones we have now, if they are lighter?OK, this is a blatant bump. But over the first dozen votes I'm surprised that it seems to skew to the heavier side. That lone vote way down at the iPhone 8 level? That's me! I guess I figure I'm not the only one out there in that category; since the end of the SE 2016 there hasn't been a shortage of threads about weight.
Thanks for the opportunity to clarify. I do have it like I want it...it's really meant as a tell of who has made the leap to the heavy phones at all. I guess I could do a poll that asks "Is your current iPhone the heaviest you have ever had?", which might give us some feeling as to how often people go to a point and then opt to go back. You asked what the heaviest phones we had were. that would be a lot of entries for heavy phones. My previous 8 was heavier than my current 12 mini.
That stainless steel on the Pro is much heavier than the aluminum of the non-Pro. I wish that Apple would just go with Titanium for the Pros to get lighter weight. Of course then they would charge even more. 😊After spending two years with a 12PM I promised myself to go with a lighter phone. This morning I was set on getting the 14. This afternoon, I visited the Apple Store, held the 14Plus and it just felt MUCH LIGHTER than the 14 even though the 14 is 172g and the 14Plus is 203g. That larger screen on the 14Plus is so appealing. I also held the 14PM for comparison, and within 5 seconds, I can hear the voice in my head say "yea.. no" due to its weight. Time to choose again, between the 14 and 14 Plus.

It's probably mainly the stainless steel. The Samsung S22 Ultra is made of aluminum. The S22 Ultra still weighs in a little over 8 ounces vs. 8.47 oz on the 13/14 Pro Max. The 14 Plus has the aluminum and weighs in at 7.13 oz.I hate heavy phones! Why do I always buy the PM’s? Because they’re the best. Why can Samsung make lighter weight phones but Apple can’t?
