I'm trying to find some information about the Mac games planned for 2015. I tried to google it but I only see results for consoles or PC.

Can you point me to a resource or mention some of the most interesting games coming soon?

From the top of my head, I've only heard about:
- The Witcher 3
- Total War Attila
- The Sims 4

And that's about it!

Thanks!

I doubt Sims 4 is anticipated. It's the worst game yet in the series. Sims 2 and 3 actually show it up.

Legend of Grimrock 2 ... and I am sure some of the indie games / kickstarters I have backed will end up coming out and I will be thrilled :)

I found an interesting page at Inside Mac Games. I found some interesting games there, like Overwatch and Interstellar Marines.
But the page looking outdated (it says Npv. 2014). Anyone else aware of other more up to date places like that one?

just go on the steam site and look at the "coming soon" sections, then check if it will be available for mac.

no one cares about making a mac only gaming site since it obviously wouldn't get enough hits unless the person wouldn't mind living in a studio on food stamps.

another good site is polygon.com

Batman Arkham Knight

I've never seen anyone mention that Arkham Knight will be ported to the Mac. Are you sure about this one?

Not announced yet, but likely. Feral ported the first two by Remedy.

Mine are:

Cities: Skylines
Obduction (probably won't make it this year, but it might)
Pillars of Eternity
Shadowrun: Hong Kong
The Witcher 3 (not announced yet, but likely. Will play in Windows anyway, though)
Full Dreamfall: Chapters
Full Game of Thrones
Asylum
Broken Age: pt 2
Banished
Age of Wonders III

Also, they are already out, but I look forward to picking up Sunless Sea, Apotheon, Grim Fandango: Remastered, and Darkest Dungeon.

This year is looking a LOT better than last year.

I'm not really looking into any games for now , I don't really feel I want any game at the moment except for Far Cry 4 which I will buy once I upgrade my GPU.

I haven't even bought Smash Bros yet ...and Zelda is supposed to come out later this year.

The no one cares comment is not correct not surprisingly. I don't understand that kind of misinformed negativity but anyway, here you go:

http://www.macgamerhq.com/opinion/2015-best-mac-games-planned/

If you sign up for the mailing list there, you will not get spammed but you will be notified of new and worthwhile articles like this one put up there. That's part one of two and called to my attention some new games coming I was completely unaware of but now hope will turn out well.

Additionally, the Aspyr GameAgent blog ( http://blog.gameagent.com ) extends it's coverage beyond just Aspyr's own games which is good of them. You can also learn when there are new updates there via email and again, spam is not an issue.

In the case of both sources above I have been on their mailing lists for a long time now and have simply gotten periodic update alerts that often have had news or info of interest to me. You may like these sources as well.

Another thing I have bookmarked is the main Feral and Aspyr websites which I just pop in on periodically to see if there's news of new releases which are going to appear there before anywhere else I would think in most cases. I'm also friends with my friends at Feral on Facebook who will post such good to know things as when their games are on sale at the App Store and elsewhere.

Along with visiting here daily to see what people are talking about, the above sources do a good job of keeping me apprised of what is coming up as well as other interesting stuff as I've said.

The suggestion to have a look at upcoming games in Steam is also a good one but as you will see if you visit MacGamer HQ, that alone won't always clue you in to everything coming up. It's only representative of what is coming to Steam in the immediate enough future that it's in the Steam database at that point. Other stuff may not show there yet and still more stuff may only be on the App Store or whatnot so casting a wider net is advised.

Those are the places i like to visit. There are more too but I will leave it to others to point out any favorites they have in addition to these if they like. I hope that helps you out and not only answers your original question for now but will help to do so ongoing.

Happy Mac gaming! :D

To say that no one cares may be hyperbolic, but Mac gaming options are pretty dismal. There was some buzz about Frostbite 3 being ported to Mac, which would open up some nice possibilities (Dragon Age Inquisition).

I just run bootcamp. Say what you will about Windows, they completely shame Apple in terms of gaming support.

I completely disagree that Mac gaming options are dismal.

I just checked Steam and found there are 1,555 games for OS X available to purchase there. There are more on the App Store by both Feral and Aspyr which are not on Steam. All of Blizzard's current and upcoming games support the Mac. There are a lot of excellent games for Mac in the pipeline for this year, a small number of which are highlighted in the first link I provided above.

I can understand how if you "just run bootcamp" you might not follow what is available for Mac games the way someone such as myself would. I could write up a ridiculously long list of high profile, well reviewed (by users) games that are all available on OS X but this isn't the place for that. So I don't want to derail the thread here with a debate about the subject but I did want to respond to the comment about dismal options.

The OP was looking for information on the most anticipated games for Mac OS X this year as the thread title states. I think it would be nice if people could keep things positive and just stick to answering the question if they can and letting others do it if they can't.

All my most anticipated games for this year are one's I can't talk about yet. Curse you dark veil of mac gaming secrecy!

no one cares about making a mac only gaming site since it obviously wouldn't get enough hits unless the person wouldn't mind living in a studio on food stamps.

Maybe they make Mac only gaming sites because they are passionate about Mac games and the community and aren't trying to make money at it specifically?

another good site is polygon.com

Polygon is full of awful journalists and awful journalism. Sure there's good stuff there too, but the bad content sours my outlook on what is supposed to a be a top of the line game journalism outlet.

+1

And thanks for all the resources! I also saw that IGN and the like have upcoming games lists but nothing too accurate or curated, looks more like automatic filtering...

How about that final Starcraft II (Protoss) expansion? I know it's an "expansion" but it's also playable a stand-alone.

I almost forgot about that, it's been so long! But who knows, knowing Blizzard, if it'll come this year still.

For me it's the new Batman game!

I played Interstellar Marines this past week during a Steam preview, and it was just alright for me, dawg. It felt like it should be an alpha product (not in the sense of gameplay being broken. Handling and default key bindings and sensitivity were good. Aiming was good). The bar for FPS's is set pretty high graphically, and to be honest, even CS:GO looks more polished.

The environments were far too sparsely populated (both by NPCs and enemies), and didn't involve enough alien environments to justify its name.

Yep, Interstellar Marines has a lot of hype surrounding it, I haven't played it yet but honestly vids and screenshots haven't impressed me...

Well, the game is in development since 2005 and given the pace it's going, it probably will be finished in 2025.

Heroes of the Storm, Overwatch and Witcher 3.

Apart from that I will welcome every single word about AAA titles from major developers coming to OSX platform.
