…but nooooooooooo. That would be the one useful thing in this useless pile for all of us who mess with linux alongside the mac, or virtually or whatever…

There is the Paragon Mini Bundle for that:

1 day and 19 hours left.

Agreed.

One of the things that still surprises me in the OSX software market is how much basic apps cost.

$49.99 for an app to print labels - really? For years I have seen similar apps sold at retail for Windows in "3 for £10 offers" here in the UK.

You are absolutelly right, but MacOS X applications are a niche market ...

The same goes for Apple products.
Most people (population) cant buy themself these fruity things, especially outside of the USA. Simply to expensive.

Amazing how they post this lousy deal and no news gets posted to the ios or mac blogs for 3 days so they can keep this right at the top... absurd. Just post a big freaking ad for it up in the corner and be done with it.

edit: 13 articles on the Mac & IOS blogs Monday-Wednesday, and nothing since.

Is this really that bad of a deal for a new mac user? Coming from a PC environment Xntfs sounds great.

Anyone want the subscriptions for 10 bucks? lol

Commenting on this 'cause I doubt anyone else will...

It's simply amazing how they can bundle so many pointless apps together. My hat is off to them.

Having just Anonymizer, BackBlaze and Paragon 2-in-1 Bundle make the bundle 100% worth it.

This bundle may not be for you but I am sure there are people that could use some of the software that is in it.

It is actually a great deal, people are just upset they don't get exactly all the software they ever wanted in one package for free.

I don't understand all the hating on bundles. One of my most-used apps, Default Folder, I probably would have never discovered if it wasn't for a bundle.

If I had unlimited resources, I'd buy more bundles because there's usually at least one or two apps that interest me. It's a good way to discover a large number of apps for a fraction of the regular price. So even if you end up using one or two of them, it can be worth it. I used to use Forklift when I was moving a lot of files because it had tabbed file windows long before Apple got around to it. It wasn't something I used every day, but it did come in handy on a number of occasions. In some cases I've ended up buying the next version of the app when it comes out, which again I wouldn't have done if I hadn't been able to try it out for cheap first.

Given the marketshare that Macs have versus Windows PCs, I think it's good to support the folks who design the software that go into these bundles, who are usually smaller developers. I'm sure most people aren't going to get rich selling Mac applications.

Plus, it's the one time when people who moan and groan that MacRumors must be paid to post product reviews and announcements are actually right that MacRumors stands to benefit from a story. :p

but more often than not, they are grossly overpriced, with apps that cannot justify their price tag at all. it's like they get some pointless apps, price them at $49.99 (you save a whole cent!) and wrap them around one good app - and here is your "$1,000,000 worth of apps for just $50!!!" which is absolute nonsense, of course. plus, more often than not, you can get the "main" app for less of what you would've paid for the entire bundle.

The quality of bundles are going down. This has to be the worst MacUpdate bundle to date.

Yes! When I saw the symbol I clicked to find out more because they at least try to get a copy of Fusion or Parallels in the mix; sometimes a copy of Disk Warrior Pro or SOMETHING.

This bundle has Paragon . . . . which once it fubars your drives filesystem, makes your drive totally unreadable on BOTH your Mac and PC.

Dumbest . . . . bundle . . . . ever!

Can you please tell me, what type of NTFS file reading application are you using?

None. If I had to transfer a good amount of files between Mac and PC, I'd either use a cloud service, or a NAS drive.

Are you saying that it should be named Paragone instead?

Indeed. I don't want to rag on something that does work. It's just that when it fails, and I mean the plug in, it usually takes everything with it.

Normal data usage methods should always apply, backing up your data, keeping offsite copies, etc. etc.

I have to say that a bundle including only a 6-month subscription is pretty inane in it of itself. I get this is the way a lot of computing is going, to the cloud and such, but I'd like to see bundles without "apps" that require a subscription.

I have zero hate for bundles. A few great apps that I use daily have been found only through bundles but now these are bundles where one app makes it worth it and the rest can be trashed. It used to be a little more balanced between whatever apps and great apps.

True, and even to the point where one could sell just the licenses of the apps they didn't want in the MR marketplace. I remember getting Snapz Pro, Pixelmator, DiscLabel, and a few other apps on a bundle. I just wanted Snapz Pro and DiscLabel. I sold Pixelmator to the guy sitting next to me when I bought the bundle for a smoother $20 bill on the spot.

At best the App bundles have to have one or two well known apps that become available when x amount of buyers purchase it.

I don't even think that's the case here.

If anyone is only looking for Anonymizer and Backblaze let me know. I'm not interested in either of those.

Compared to others that usually break the barrier past the initial offer, this latest bundle seems to have floundered.

Granted, the price was good for me, to get an upgrade to Labels & Addresses and ExpanDrive, though I'm finding ExpanDrive performance to be rather undesirable.

Well, Labels and Addresses has solved my christmas card label printing problem (not v cheap, but very flexible IMHO - and gets labels in the format my wife wants :) ) - and hoping that Expandrive will solve some other problems.
