New to OS 10 and used disk utility to make an Image of OS partition in external drive. Is there a way to test it and if needed how is it restored to work in original position? Leopard by the way. TIA

OK, so essentially, you made a disk image, right? Yeah, I'm guessing so. OK, essentially, with a dmg, you create the image, and can then drop files into the image. You can then upload it to the internet, put it onto an external hard drive, or whatever. To revert back to the original, just move the dmg to the trash, and if you mounted the disk, eject it. Simple as that. I assume that's what you were looking for.

Thanks for the response. Basically I made it to have a BU of the Leopard OS until SuperDuper is ready. I’m asking because if my now active OS “breaks” how is the image used to replace it?
