Ok. After the 4th was done, it then asked this:

Recovery/transformation command (? for help):

Press Enter or something else?

You answered Y to making partition 4 bootable?

If so type "w" and press enter to write the changes to disk.

Answer Y to continue.

Type q to quit and reboot.

Awesome, that worked!

Many thanks for all your help... I owe you. :)

Just out of curiosity, if I wanted to now remove/uninstall gdisk, is there an easy way to do that?

Very happy to hear that :D
That's a really good recovery - only possible because the GPT was still intact.
In view of that fact I suspect that your initial partitioning error was made using gparted? It's not what I use with GPT disks, gdisk is the better option but a tad more difficult to use. Having said that, it's a powerful partition editor and care must be taken with it.

Anyway, well done to you :D

Regarding uninstalling gdisk I'm sure there's a way, but in view of my comments above, I wouldn't even consider doing that :p

The original error was made during the Windows 8.1 installation process where you select and format the bootcamp partition in the early stages of the windows installer; that's where I inadvertently deleted the 1st of 4 partitions on the list (it was about 40mb if memory serves me and can't recall what it was called but its name didn't stand out as anything important).

Anyhow, glad this is over. Thanks again, I couldn't have done it without your help.

Cheers.

BTW, I'm now very proficient at taking window screen shots in OSX. lol
