Pretty secure, have a lot of back ups in case this one breaks. Doesn't offer much in terms of exterior protection but pretty lightweight and easy to assemble. Great for toting around and compatible with Smart Cover.

I'm sure Apple will be launching this with iPad 3, it's so ingenious. It shall be called the smart carry, available in tan or pink colors for $39. Or green, blue, orange and black for $79.

Sure, cost you nothing to steal them. The company paid for those rubber bands.

+1

And the thread title infers that it costs "ME" nothing if I want to build the same case which isn't true.

I could start a thread that says "Free iPad" then inside just say my uncle bought me one and tell everyone "well it was free for me"... Ridiculous.

You could make a fortune on Etsy (Etsy bills itself as The online market place for all things handmade)!

I made mine for free too!

Just found some rubber bands on the floor.

EDIT - WHAT A ****** CASE.

The rubber bands snapped and my iPad dived straight into the ground.

Any other genius ideas? Toothpicks made from paperclips? Duct tape band aids? Pasta guitar?

Cost Nothing? Oh ya sure like you can tell me where to get free rubber bands.

I don't think I've paid for a rubber band in close to 8 years. they come wrapped around mail, sometimes holding packages together, occasionally with the newspaper or legal documents, etc.

Granted, we don't have a ton of them--maybe 2 or 3 dozen at best--but they can be reused almost indefinitely, and they literally cost nothing, even though I didn't steal them.
