I used to use LockDown. It served it's purpose and did exactly what I need. No need to pay for something like this.

Though madvlock need to pay, but it worth your every penny.
It can not only encrypt the files, lock the applications, but it also password protect the sim card

mAdvLock locks applications(both system and app store ones) and all kinds of files in your iPhone with password. It is also a simple anti-theft tool, you can setup mAdvLock to lock your iphone when SIM is changed, and send a SMS to a pre-defined number.mAdvLock protects important information and personal data that you have stored in your iPhone. It's a must-have application to the jailbreak iPhone.

I have used Lockdown for the past few weeks and just downloaded the 7 day trial of mAdvLock today.

In my time with Lockdown, I like it and is easy to use. I have found that it crashes every now and then when I put in the password for any given app. Although inconvenient, it isn't that bad when it happens. It has done it a total of, maybe 10 times.

Just in playing with mAdvLock today, it is also easy to setup, but I haven't had it long enough to see if it has the same crashing problem. I like that it locks the SIM card which would be the only reason I would be willing to consider spending 14.99! I think the price is set a bit high, but then again, I have now idea what goes into developing it.

Comparing the two when it comes to entering a password for any given app, hands down, I like Lockdown so far. What's the difference you ask? mAdvLock, you click on an app, password pad pops up, enter password, click enter, your in. Lockdown, click the app, password pad pops up, enter password and you are in, no extra enter button to press. While it sounds like a little thing, the later is why I find it easy to lock frequently used apps and still access them quickly and easily.

This thread is the first I have seen of iProtect. I just looked it up and it seems by the screen shot that entering a password is more like Lockdown, which I like. It also has SIM card protect. So at 8.99 seems like it might be a better deal then mAdvLock. After I play with mAdvLock for the week, I think I will give iProtect a go and see how it is. From the looks of it, I might be buying that one in stead.

I will be paying for one of the two eventually so that I have the SIM lock option.
