What are you guys hoping to see in a gen 2 of the magic keyboard and when do you think it will be released?

Personally, I would like to see a better material being used (maybe leather), and a way of collapsing it down to use the iPad as an iPad when required.

I would like to see it as a harder plastic. I liked how I wasn't so afraid to use my Logitech keyboards, but I have to be so much more intentional with how I place my Magic Keyboard.

After spending $300 for the 11” keyboard in June, I am not eager to drop another $300 already. It would need to be a big improvement for me to do so.

Agreed. I would also like to see a slightly harder (but not heavier) plastic. I understand the dangers of this, but I think that much of the time we're using the iPad on surfaces that are only partially supported, or they might be uneven.

A harder material would allow us to type a little better.

Still, even if they never improve it, I have to say the Magic Keyboard is surprising. Combined with the power of a modern iPad, it's easy to buy into the argument that we no longer need a MacBook.

After buying a MacBook Air I have stopped using the magic keyboard and just use the Smart Cover. Fn keys and force touch trackpad would be nice. But yeah $350 feels overpriced now.
