Apple Magic Keyboard £330

ESR Rebound Keyboard £102

On the fence as to which one to buy. Does anyone own the ESR Rebound keyboard? It’s a lot cheaper and looks quite good (I like the fact you can choose the colour for illuminating the keyboard, which you can’t on Apple MKB). However I think it is almost double the weight of the MKB and is made of 'less premium' material plastic to the metal of the MKB.

I do like that fact the ESR protects the IPP on all the corners and you can take the case (with the ipad in it) off the magnet keyboard case. You can't do this on MKB nor does it offer corner protection.

Thank you and will look forward to reading your comments on this topic 👍

Looks interesting but no size it appears for the 2025 13” IPP?

Does it feel well made etc? Would you rate it?

Not sure if there's a 13 inch - there could be.

It seems pretty well made to me - I'm happy with mine. I'm sure the Apple one is probably better but not 5 times better based on the price. It uses Bluetooth rather than pogo pins but works well.

Hi Paul - I hear what your saying re Apple being 5 x the cost of the keyboard. I thought the Apple MKB also uses Bluetooth for connectivity?

The Apple keyboard uses a pogo pin connector.

Apple Magic Keyboard or nothing, at least for me. Nothing else is close. Bought a like new one from Best Buy for my wife’s new iPad and it is brand new and was over $100 off.

I hear where you are coming from - in terms of quality anyway. It appears nothing on the market comes close to the quality of the MKB. When spending almost £1,500 on such a premium device, you want a case that doesn't let the quality down.

A bit concerned of the overall protection of the MKB given it leaves the corners exposed (which the ESR does not).

Yeah - Apple keyboard is no doubt better - but the price is on another planet compared to the alternatives.
Yes it is - although that appears to be the trend of most Apple products. That said, I still buy them anyway!! 😆

I have bought all kinds of different budget keyboards but nothing compares to Apple magic keyboards in terms of usage.
Thanks for this - helpful to know. I think Apple MKB it is despite the crazy price in comparison to other brands.

Get the Magic Keyboard, you won’t be disappointed. It doesn’t make the iPad look bulky, it actually looks even better with it. Third-party keyboards tend to look cheap, make the iPad feel bulky, and their build quality simply isn’t comparable.

Thank you. Good sound advice. Your right - you know your not going to be disappointed with the quality when buying an Apple product! I guess MKB offers half decent protection too.

Glad you’ve seemed to move on from considering ESR. I had one of their keyboards and it died after a few months, waste of $80. I wish I would have bought the official keyboard case from Apple to begin with, the trackpad is in a different league tbh.

Thank you and yes I have moved onto the Apple MKB. You know it’s going to last and be of very good quality an design. I guess that is the premium you are paying. As you rightly say, Apple products are in a league of their own, generally speaking 👌🏻
