Hello!
I'm thinking of getting the 11" magic keyboard since I tend to type a lot, and I was wondering if there's a noticeable battery impact when using those, since I guess the trackpad and keyboard need to be powered in some way.

I would assume it's not going to be as directly noticeable as the 3-5% a full charge of the Apple Pencil 2 takes out of the iPad's battery, but has anyone here noticed diminished battery life?

I keep my 11" iPad Pro mounted to the Magic Keyboard at all times. I has never occurred to me that there would be any significant impact on battery usage, but your question led me to think about it and do some checking.

This video pretty much answers the question, I think. The conclusion is that it does not have a big impact (jump to 9:18 if you want to skip all of the explanations of the tests done).

Well, I went ahead and bought it.
So far I love it. It’s ridiculous how much more like a proper laptop the iPad feels with it, despite iPadOS.

I think you'll enjoy it. The iPad w/keyboard mounted is a bit heavy but it's very nice to have the keyboard and trackpad available when needed. And it provides a nice support, gives the option of charging from either side, etc. I don't think I've removed my iPad from the keyboard for more than a few minutes since I started to use it. Enjoy!

Yeah, the weight was a bit surprising - but neither negatively nor positively, if that makes sense.
The only slight gripes I have so far are that you can’t open it with one hand and I kinda wish there was an Escape key. There were a couple of situations where I reached for it but then realized it wasn’t there xD
