Magic keyboard killing the iPad battery

I moved to 11 inch and drained like 13% in like 10 mins.

any tips or what needs to be amended to get better battery life? Dunno if to just turn off the backlit in settings.

I read the backlight can obliterate the battery. Not sure what to do since I don’t use it with my ipp

I only turn on the keyboard backlight when I absolutely need it. On the most part I'm a touch typist (though I fail with the number keys). But, I'm big friends with the delete key. I will admit better battery life would be welcome. Note, I do turn off cellular if Wifi is available. That seems to help overall battery life.
