I have noticed that my GEN4 iPad Pro will charge just fine with the iPad USB C port is used.

When I try to use pass-through charging with the MK, I get a "Not Charging" message on my iPad. Plug SAME cable back into the iPad USB C port, and the iPad charges (and is recognized by iMazing as a connected USB device.

I am not using a "Apple" USB C cable, but the cable DOES charge the iPad direct. Is something wrong with the MK charging system?

TIA

It shouldn't matter it it's an "Apple" USB-C cable as long as it's a cable from a reputable manufacturer. But if you live anywhere near an Apple store, you can make an appointment for them to look at it and I'm sure they'll try it with their own USB-C cable. If not, then you can order the Apple USB-C cable for $20 to try just to be sure. If that doesn't work, then I can't imagine what else it could be except the Magic Keyboard itself.

The cable does matter. If there’s more resistance and you’re using a less powerful adapter then it will not properly charge the iPad via another resistance being the MK. It’s also the same reason you can charge the iPad directly. It‘s getting enough power.

If you use the original USB cable and power adapter and still come across the issue then there’s so,etching wrong with the MK pass through charging.
