For those who have both is the Apple Pencil really necessary? I feel that keyboard does more but at the same time the oversized stylus versus the trackpad, I need some expertise on weighing both options, thanks!

One thing to note is i find the worst thing about the ipad magic keyboard case is that it doesn't have a pencil holder
So the pencil falls off the ipad whenever you try carrying the ipad anywhere with the pencil attached..

Not sure how you can even compare apple MK keyboard case against an apple pencil as there two totally different items

I have both and love the magic keyboard. I dont use the Pencil that much but Chaparral is correct, its a pain as it falls off all the time. Anyways I can’t live without the keyboard now as it has changed my word flow with an iPad. The 12.9 M1 screen was enough for me to get it over a MacBook.

That’s exactly my main problem with the pencil, i had to deal with it falling off which made me question it’s purpose in the first place, I tried to love it, but i find the Fact that you can’t swipe back to the home screen by default a setback, I too love the keyboard it has been a life altering experience but the pencil was just too much for me. Maybe they will iron out the kinks in A version 3 I hope. Stylus can do so much more I hate the fact that it was just for apps use like procreate and stuff.

Totally agree with the swiping back issues. Its the main thing I hate about it and makes it nearly pointless for me. I dont draw much but its good not to keep wiping the screen if I need to touch it. Keyboard does that job for me though so my Pencil is just on top of the pad collecting dust currently ?
