I have used the cmd plus back arrow keys for quite a while to navigate back to a previous page when using Safari. My fingers are always near those keys so it is more convenient for me than lifting my hand to tap the back arrow on the Safari menu bar. I realized since ios 18 that this combination does not work. Initially I thought it was due to the site I was on. But using the cmd key to pull up the options screen I see now that the correct combo is cmd plus the bracket key [. I’m not sure why the change was made as, to me, a back arrow key seems intuitive while a bracket key would never have occurred to me.
