Yeah gotta be honest, with such a significant redesign, and the cpu now being Apple, I’m amazed they didn’t have Face ID as part of the whole package. Its not something terribly new, been on the iPhone since 2017.

The lack of backlit at this point is tragicomic.
Hey look what was released today? Another M1 Mac with....count em....2 TB ports. Not 4. 2. It even has 2 more USB-C ports, making the decision to limit it even more obvious and deliberate.
Still think those MacBook Pros are going to have 4 TB ports? Lololol
Unfortunately it is the difference between me using an Apple keyboard and not. It’s just not acceptable.
Yeah, this seems to be an M1 limitation, however we're not waiting for M1 Macs to have more ports but for M1X and up Macs or whatever they want to call the higher-end processors to do.
Its just logical that the higher-end MacBook Pro's, iMac's and Mac Pro will have at least double the IO, as they always have.
I want that Touch ID keyboard. Maybe I’m gonna buy the iMac with the keyboard and throw away the iMac.

Yes i do. Because they Are not going to use the same die as the low-end iMac, low-end 13” MBP, low-end Mac mini, and MBA.

I did not realize this doesn't support Intel models. That's a bummer. I would definitely have used this with my 2018 mac mini until I switched to the MX.

The keyboard exists in an extended configuration with the numbed and 19F keys as always 🙂

I've seen complaints about this a bunch.
Is this mostly a problem for people who don't touch type? Or is it that in the dark, unusual needed characters are hard to see?
Isn’t it the same on the MacBooks? You can use it as either a sensor or a button, and it will never do quite what you thought it does. Something related to power on/off, login/logout, sleep/awake.

No one wants to see unusual characters in the dark.
Magic Keyboard with no backlight, iPad Pro with only one USB-C port, Apple TV with no USB port to connect external HDDs, thank you Apple, those are good excuses for me to not buy them and save my money!
Really bummed they won't work with older Macs.
I routinely use my MacBook Pro with an external display. The MBP is off to the side and I use a separate keyboard and mouse. TouchID is a little annoying to use because I have to reach over quite a bit to reach it. This would've been super convenient.
Likewise, it would've been neat to add TouchID to the MacMini in my office (which is an Intel Mac).
