iPad Pro Magic Keyboard + YouTube

Hi all,

I had recently been using YouTube with the magic keyboard and i was able to start/stop the video with the space bar and forward/back 10 seconds with the arrow keys.

However, this function doesn’t seem to work anymore. Can anyone else confirm if it has been removed or is it a problem with my setup?

It‘s not just the magic keyboard. My regular Smart Keyboard won’t work with YT anymore either.

I would recommend using the website in Safari then. You will not regret it.

Its not just you mate, it used to work like a charm but not anymore. Youtube removed the feature and i fail to understand why would they do it. *insert profanity here*

Yes, this was working for me as well and now doesn't work. I would love to find a fix.

Or possibly trying to make iPads looks worse than Galaxy Tabs? Since they work together with Samsung with free YouTube Premium for limited time with Samsung products purchases

Nah, that is too extreme.

I would recommend using the website in Safari then. You will not regret it.

On the iPhone I use the app but iPad safari is superior.

No keyboard shortcut but you can pinch on trackpad to minimize full screen video.

Youtube App on iPad is terrible anyway. I just use the website in safari with a content blocker. It's perfect.

View YouTube anonymously in the Safari browser. Using the YouTube app makes you a slave to whatever Google wants to do. I also suggest using 1Blocker to block the ads and all the comments on the videos.

They don’t earn any money with me. If someone had a good channel, I wouldn’t be opposed to donating like with Patreon.
