I posted this in the mouse thread but the last entry was Jun 10th so I'm not sure if it will be read...

I just went out and bought a Magic Mouse 2 yesterday for my iPad. I had the MM1 and loved it but it got dropped and damaged.
I can't for the life of me get it to work on the iPad. There doesn't seem to be a way to get it in discovery mode.
I've tried holding the main button when I turned it on, etc.
I've read online that no one can get it to work but also read others have it working.
Anyone here successful? I don't want to return but can't justify it if it doesn't work.
I have successfully paired a Logitech MX Master and a Microsoft Surface Wedge mouse.
The Wedge mouse is pretty awesome since the touch scroll works on the iPad.

Magic track 2 connects and works via USB C to lightening to 3rd generation iPad Pro.
Oh it connects that way but it is kind of hard to use the mouse when there is a cable sticking to the bottom of it.

Yeah. At this time, only Bluetooth mice can work, unless there is a mouse with a USB-C connector instead of standard USB.

I’m not at home or I would take a picture, but yes - I tried to pair via Bluetooth at first and it would not see the mouse ata all. Then I turned on assistive touch, went to pointing devices, and I forget the rest of the options but it was in there.

I’ll try to take a picture when I get home. I didn’t play much with it but I found it pretty lackluster to be honest.

I cant seem to get my MM2 or trackpad to connect wirelessly to the ipad. the trackpad will work with a USB C to lightning cable, but thats annoying. i wanted it to work wirelessly.
Does anyone have an update on this, if Apple will fix this?

Have you fed this back to Apple?

I have sucussfully paired a Magic Mouse (its probably the original one since it uses 2 AA batteries) but can’t get a Magic Trackpad (which also uses 2 AA batteries) to pair. I really want it to work since there is no scrolling support with the mouse. Has anyone had any success doing this?

Same here, mate. Tried absolutely everything but can’t get my MM2 to work.

Hopefully this is solved in future betas, ‘cause I’m loathe to use some daggy non-Apple mouse.

Exactly. I reeeeally don’t want to have to buy another mouse when I own a perfectly good one...from Apple.

I hope everyone’s sending feedback on this!

I thought some of you may be intrested in this set up that I’ve been playing with in iPad OS13 on my 2018 iPad Pro 12.9.

This is a set up I got working with my iPad 12.9 Pro (2018). The Hyperlink device is actually
a Hyper Drive. Using it I can have the iPad charging while using the mouse. There is a little glitch in setting it up. If I plug the mouse in befoe I plug the power cable in then the mouse will not work. I have to put the power in first. Of course you don’t have to have it at all, I only did it to see if it would work. also the pencil will charge in this configuration. One strange thing is that the on screen keyboard wants to be up. Normally when using my Smart Keyboard the onscreen keyboard is not seen, but in this set up it needs to be up.

How does the scrolling work? I’m using the original Apple Magic Mouse and it’s great but no scrolling support. Or can anyone recommend a mouse, or trackpad that supports scrolling on IpadOS?

Trackpad 2 connected, scroll is click with 1 finger, scroll with the other. I have my iPad hooked up to 4K display, apple trackpad/keyboard, card reader and drives. Working really well.

Scrolling works great with the center button wheel. It only scrolls in " Classic" mode.

Thank you. “Classic mode”? Where is that setting to be found? Something in that particular mouse’s configuration?
