Magic Mouse 2 work (Bluetooth) on Mavericks 10.9.5?

Would you happen to know if the Magic Mouse 2 will work (Bluetooth) on Mavericks 10.9.5?

The product description says: Bluetooth-enabled Mac computer with OS X v10.11 or later ...however, I thought I'd ask anyway to confirm for sure...

For those running Mavericks 10.9.5, the Magic Mouse 2 will only work with left and right clicks. None of the features will work including the scrolling. Therefore, just buy the regular Magic Mouse.

OS X 10.11 El Capitan or later is required yeah. Probably bluetooth 4.0 as well.
I am surprised it doesn't have an update by now that would support some basic obvious gestures etc.
