Hi, bought an old iMac (which works flawlessly) which came with a magic keyboard and mouse. Keyboard works fine, but the mouse doesn't. New batteries fitted and the mouse is immediately detected and is connected. Nothing works on it, clicks, mouse movement or gestures. I have tried it on my MacBook Pro where it is exactly the same. Should I just accept it is borked and bin it?

Sounds like that's the most logical conclusion.
