Read lots of threads complaining about the MM, most related to gesture problems. So far I love the gestures; but I've not seen my problem listed. Every now and then, possibly once or twice every 30 minutes during heavy use, a routine left click will open the right click menu. The click is clearly on the left side. It will continue to produce the right click menu, but it seems that if I click on the very far left edge of the mouse that behavior will clear and it will return to normal left-sided use. I'm trying to figure out if this is just flakiness or if there might be something wrong with my mouse (that could result in a replacement). Everything else on the mouse works perfectly.

That happened to me when I first got the MM, I chalked it up to my middle finger resting on the right part of the mouse & maybe being sensed more clearly than the rest for whatever reason. I just disabled secondary click in System Preferences; if I want the menu I do a control-click.

Reviving this thread as it seems to be getting worse. It's also not due to my finger resting on the right side of the mouse. Essentially about three times an hour on a left click I get the right menu. Sometimes if I then do a right click and then a left click on the far left edge I will go back to the correct left click. Starting to drive me nuts. Should I ask for a new mouse?

I wanted to update this thread. After contacting Apple and doing a number of wasteful exercises (like PRAM resetting) they finally sent me a replacement MM which works perfectly. If this should happen to you, it is NOT a software problem, it is a problem with the click mechanism in the MM.

And I was wrong. Gradually the replacement mouse has started exhibiting the same behavior, gradually getting worse. Clicking the left click brings up the right click menu. All settings are correct and it's an intermittent problem. Not exactly sure what to do now. Would rather not use another mouse. Tried PRAM reset per Apple, did nothing before.
