I got the Mouse with my iMac.
Thinking of buying a Magic Trackpad.
Thoughts?

Thanks for the response.I use the Magic Trackpad since the beginning, mainly because of the different multi touch gestures.
When I got my first Mac desktop in 2008 or so I initially used the Magic Mouse. At some point and I don't remember when tbh I tried out a trackpad and have been using it since, must be going on 10 years or so. Wouldn't want to use anything different.I got the Mouse with my iMac.

That’s mad, because I got my first Apple Product in 2008: An iMac!When I got my first Mac desktop in 2008 or so I initially used the Magic Mouse. The trackpad for me is just like the trackpad on a MacBook just bigger and more comfortable to use
Mine was a MacPro ... it was an absolute beast and got replaced with a 27 iMac in 2017...That’s mad, because I got my first Apple Product in 2008: An iMac!
It came with the Mighty Mouse (I believe they had to change the name, because of licensing.)
I think I’m going to get the Trackpad.
The trackpad is more versatile, I think.Mine was a MacPro ... it was an absolute beast and got replaced with a 27 iMac in 2017...
how do you like the trackpad on your MBP compared to the mouse on your iMac? That should help answer if you're going to like the trackpad...
Same here - had to go MX Vertical and now the Logitech Lift (much smaller - but keeps my wrist happy). The trackpad has been causing my carpal tunnel to flair as of lately. I'm stuck using an ergonomic mouse and bending my wrist as little as possible.
Sorry to hear that. The trackpad has been causing my carpal tunnel to flair as of lately. I'm stuck using an ergonomic mouse and bending my wrist as little as possible.
Many thanks, Susan.I have both in use. I mostly use the trackpad, let's say 90-95% of the time. Only for some things I find the mouse more convinient for some reason.
But I think the trackpad is the number 1 accessorie for a mac. Great product.
I use both the Magic Mouse and the Trackpad. I have used both for so long that I can't even tell you what each is used for. It just comes naturally. I probably use the Trackpad for scrolling and the Magic Mouse for choosing items individually. My desk accommodates both along with the Keypad, so I use all three.I got the Mouse with my iMac.

For the most part, trackpads cause me discomfort. I am a fan of an ergonomic mouse, and I find it much easier to use than a trackpad. I know there are a lot of gestures on the Apple trackpad (I have an MacBook Pro) but I hardly ever use it. I'm not saying it's bad, it's just not for me. I also use a mechanical keyboard...The trackpad has been causing my carpal tunnel to flair as of lately. I'm stuck using an ergonomic mouse and bending my wrist as little as possible.
I'm left handed, and all of the ergonomic mice I've seen are right handed, so I haven't bothered to research them. For the most part, trackpads cause me discomfort. Edit: I was always a fan of the IBM Thinkpad "eraser-head" tracking device built into the keyboard. I know a lot of people didn't like them, but for me, it was awesome! Haven't used a Thinkpad since IBM sold it to Lenovo![]()
Thanks for the reflection.I have a Magic Trackpad sitting next to my iMac, but I find it exhausting to use for any length of time.
I use a Logitech G305, which is a light, precise and excellent mouse.
Logitech makes a left-handed version of the Lift.I'm left handed, and all of the ergonomic mice I've seen are right handed, so I haven't bothered to research them.
Thanks for letting me know.Logitech makes a left-handed version of the Lift.
I've tried both of those, but discovered that they were near impossible to lift up when I got to the edge of my mousing surface and had to re-center. Otherwise I'd likely still be using one of them.Same here - had to go MX Vertical and now the Logitech Lift (much smaller - but keeps my wrist happy).
I was much more of a fan of the Trackpad vs the Apple Mouse.
