Awesome they took the iPod approach in packaging. Did you get it in the store? Cause Im going to get one tomorrow and I hope they have them.

The Apple Store(s) in my area got them in this morning.

The Magic Mouse is sitting in my desk next to me. I don't have a Mac at work.

Why must you tempt me so? *shakes fist in mock anger  *
I'm loving how shiny everything is. You can see the reflection of the camera on the surface of the mouse. This baby's coming home with me tomorrow... Hopefully :p

Got mine today... and Apple is trying to be greener too!

No bag... just a little teal color sticker that says thank you...:D

Like that being green and all, but if you put it down... oops, its gone! be carefull

How often do your expectations get EXCEEDED, when buying from A.N. Other company?. I *knew* I needed and wanted one of these, but I saw the packaging an hour ago and was STUNNED!!. They just excel themselves without end!.

Now imagine if they made a version which was thermochromic, or GLOWED under the points of contact!

Very nice! Thanks for posting the pictures. I'm getting mine tomorrow via Fedex and I'm excited.

Not meaning to hijack this thread but I think it belongs here: now that you have the Magic Mouse in your everyday work area, how do you like it? Please respond only if you actually have used it in your normal work area. thx

I don't think the packaging is environmental.

The last box was all cardboard.

On the plus side the packaging makes a nice mouse holder for my laptop bag.

It will go back in the case before going back in my bag:)

The mouse is very nice. I picked up 2.

Screenshot of preference pane.

The edges are kind of sharp - only complaint.

They will scratch easily also.

Nice new packaging, I like it. I'm planning on getting one in the near future after I purchase my HTC Hero.

Interestingly, I ordered 2 from the Apple Store and received 2 different tracking numbers.

It's really a crappy mouse

I'm really sorry to say how disappointed I was in the new mighty mouse. Let me first say that I am all mac all the way. 24 inch imac at home, 13inch macbook for work, wife on a mac at work, iphone, etc etc.

But the new might mouse is just bad. It doesn't feel comfortable in your hand. The sleek design forces your hand to be artificially low- nothing touches your palm and that's weird. It's also SUPER slow!!!! In terms of scrolling if you turn the speed all the way up it's still slower than my old mouse was at half speed. It's a little inaccurate- it misses some movements and is slower to respond than a usb wireless mouse. The right click is bad as well. It's really nice that it gives you a click down- sound and everything, but you have to have your left finger completely off the mouse to make it work for a right click, which is just annoying and unnecessary.

All in all, I give it a D-. I'm totally disappointed with it. The only thing that works the way I would expect an apple product to work is the scrolling. That's good and straightforward, but the rest... not so much.

I hope you guys feel differently, just throwing in my two cents!

Perhaps you should return your MIGHTY mouse, and try a MAGIC mouse, then? :D

I found that the Magic Mouse fits perfectly in the Waterfield Design iPhone sleeve. I agree the packaging is not very enviro-friendly. I think they wanted to show off how pretty it is.

Geek pron win! Thanks

Wrong. Scrolling is like iPhone. Flick and scrolls fast, otherwise it's precise scrolling.

Read the instructions inside System Preferences. Jeez.

In addition, there are different ways to hold a mouse, and different people prefer different shapes / sizes. Maybe you have a small hand? I think it feels fine.

The package to prevent the scammers from saying they opened a package and it contains nothing.

Tried it at the store, very nice but the 2 finger forward page, back page is difficult while still holding the mouse.
This should have been a one-finger gesture. Hopefully future software will allow you to fix this.

i have no problems flicking left or right with 2 fingers without holding the mouse, works great. try less pressure, it really requires just barely brushing the mouse.
