It's No Doubt the Coolest feature on a Mac.

I use track pads - so it's two finger swipe & Option key.

This allows me to sit easily 6 feet away from the screen with Bluetooth keys and Pad.

You hold down the CTRL key? And what Mac OS X version do you use?
