Well, subject says it all – anyone got any idea how to force MT2 to work with Yosemite properly?

It kinda works in wired mode and in Bluetooth – but only basic functions (no scrolling/gestures, click to click etc.).

I know that Apple wants us to upgrade to El Capitan to use new hardware (monumentally moronic idea IMO), but it is out of the question considering how crappy El Capitan turned out to be. More like 10.10.6-alpha-with-extra-bugs.

Magic Trackpad 2, on the other hand, seems to be a really really good little piece of hardware. Too bad Apple doesn't want to support it properly – I really don't want to return it.

Maybe try a better driver, "BetterTouchtool" they will soon have an update for the MT2.

Thanks for the suggestion, I've actually tried their MT2-compatible alpha build. Not much success.

And BTT is not a driver AFAIK, it just adds extra gestures etc. on top of OS driver.

I remember dev saying on Reddit he's not going to do Yosemite+MT2 because it "requires driver support" or something.
