Hi all, bought the 2018 Mac Mini a few weeks ago. i5/8/256, and upgraded the ram myself to 32 GB. Like many others, I have the problem where my Magic Trackpad and Magic Keyboard keep randomly disconnecting and reconnecting. Yeah, it’s pretty frustrating. The other day, I installed Windows 10 in boot camp. I spent several hours using nothing but Windows 10 yesterday before I realized something. I never had a single disconnect issue with my Keyboard or Trackpad. They both worked effortlessly. This leads me to believe that this is not a hardware or interference issue, but a software bug that’s only present in Mac OS. Has anyone else had this same experience?

By the way, I have not used any of the workarounds that have worked for other users. Especially with this new hope I have that it might just be a software bug that Apple knows about and will possibly fix in the near future. Any thoughts?

My opinion only:
This has nothing to do with software.
It's RF radiation from the hardware.
Software isn't going to fix it.
And... even if Apple makes small modifications to the hardware (extra shielding?) on future production, I don't think they're going to do a recall or anything along that line.

Having said that, shielding may not even work if at least some of "the interference" is emanating from external 3rd-party devices, such as external drives, hubs, etc.

Thanks for your input, Fisherrman. I do have a 3rd party usb-3 hub connected to the outside USB port. The hub is located under my desk, nearly a foot to the left of the mini, which sits on the desktop. Does it seem like the hub might be causing some interference? I just now unplugged it and will see if it makes any difference.

If it was RF-related, wouldn't it still be present in windows? OP Mentioned it wasn't.

That’s true. In windows, there are no issues at all. I unplugged my usb-3 hub, and am having no Bluetooth issues in Mojave now. But I use two external SSDs for my data, and a larger external HDD for Time Machine. So I need to use a hub. So continuing without it is not an option.
